Employee Leaves / Workers Compensation:

All employees must complete a leave application for any absence greater than three (3) days.

A doctor’s note is required for any groups of absences five (5) or more consecutive days.

  • 1250 hours of service in the last 12 months

Absence Management

The Lansing School District currently uses Frontline Absence Management (Formerly AESOP)

To create a documented absense...

  • Log into Frontline with your account information emailed to you by your LSD HR affiliate.
  • Click on "Create Absence" tab on your screen.
  • Fill in the absence details regarding your absense.
  • When you’re completed entering the absence details, click the “Create Absense” button.

Professional Development (KALPA)

The District uses KALPA to help you track your Professional Development. You will register for PD on KALPA and have your school validate your attendance. You will then upload each occurrence to MOECS in preparation for your certification renewal. Here is what you need to login to KALPA:

SET SEG

Health insurance and other employee benefits can be complicated and confusing. Lansing School District has partnered with SET SEG Employee Benefit Services to handle benefit administration and offer employees guidance and support with their benefit programs.  
 
Who is SET SEG? SET SEG Employee Benefit Services offers comprehensive advice and administrative services specifically designed for Michigan public school districts. Based in downtown Lansing, our specialized services and personalized customer care make us uniquely positioned to serve the specific needs of the district and its employees.
 
Who can I speak to about my plan elections? SET SEG Account Service Representatives are available to access your account data, provide detailed eligibility information, and assist you with enrollment, making benefit changes, issuing identification cards and submitting forms on your behalf. Your full plan detail will remain available online at Lansing School District’s Employee Access Center (EAC) for 24-hour access.
