General job search assistance is provided for all Lansing Students by staff in the Center Programs federally funded by Capital Area Michigan Works such as On-the-Job Training. Limited Internship and Work Experience Programs are offered to students year-round

Co-Op & Internship Employment

Internships designed to be short-term (several days to several weeks) offer awareness of career activities. Students seeking long-term employment may enroll in cooperative (co-op) education programs. Co-op students generally report to their jobs instead of classes at Hill. They receive credit and pay for their work

School-To-Registered Apprenticeship

The School-To-Registered Apprenticeship (STRA) program provides students with an opportunity to participate in a registered apprenticeship program will still in high school. These 3-5 year programs combine paid on -the-job training with related classroom activities at Lansing Community College or other facilities for post high school instruction, and may lead to a college degree. Students may participate starting the summer of their junior year. Careers in the journey/skilled areas typically provide a greater income then those requiring a master's degree.
