Welcome to the J. W. Sexton High School Counseling Center!
Attention Sexton Students:
Are you a current 10th or 11th grader who has a STRONG interest in becoming a physician? The MSU HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOLAR INSTITUTE may be a great opportunity for you. It's a VIRTUAL SUMMER PROGRAM through Michigan State University. The program runs from July 6th-July 31st. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The DEADLINE to apply is June 22nd. If you will be an 11th or 12th grader next year, the Career and Technical Education courses are an option for you. These are available through the Wilson Talent Center and the ERESA. Along with those, there's an opportunity to be a part of the inaugural group of students in the Lansing School District to participate in the NEW FIRE SCIENCE ACADEMY. Please email your counselor for more information regarding this program if you're interested.

EDP Announcement 4/14/20
For students who have not already completed their Educational Development Plan (EDP), Sexton's Counseling Department would like to provide an instructional worksheet to download. With this form and access to Xello (online), students can complete their EDPs. If you don't have access to a printer, you can simply write your responses down on a lined sheet of paper. The worksheets do not have to be turned in.
Please keep in mind, this is for all student to try to complete before the end of the school year.
