The J W Sexton High School Robotics team has been active at Sexton for the past 6 years.  We spent three years participating as a FIRST robotics team, # 2617.  In 2010, Michigan State University offered to sponsor us as a VEX robotics team, and have been competing as MSU Team 6581-S ever since.

In Spring of 2011 our team qualified for the VEX World Competition the took place in Orlando, Florida.  The team competed for three days at the Disney Wide World of Sports and placed 47 of 104 in our division.  In the Spring of 2012, the RoboReds again represented the Lansing School district at the National VEX Competition in Omaha Nebraska where we placed in the top 10 of 80 teams from all over the country.  We are looking forward to a successful 2012-2013 season!
