Pathfinder Program Registration

Ebersole Center's Pathfinder Program:
  • Who is eligible to attend?  Any currently enrolled Lansing School District student that has been invited to attend.  If demand for the program exceeds the available seats, priority will be given to students in this year's graduating cohorts.
  • What are the goals of the Pathfinder Program?  To support HS students as they transition into adulthood by (a) helping them develop critical social skills, (b) encouraging academic achievement, and (c) providing positive, life-enriching learning experiences.
  • How does the Pathfinder Program Work?  The Pathfinder Program is composed of three major components.
    1. Lansing-Based Mentoring. Pathfinders will receive ongoing mentoring support through our partnerships with Lansing-based mentoring programs. While supports may vary slightly based on our community partners, all Pathfinders will receive (a) weekly face-to-face check-ins from a mentor, (b) invitations to participate in monthly Lansing-based mentoring events and activities (e.g., lunch-n-learns, speaker series, SEL symposiums, etc.), and (c) invitations to attend any mentoring-related field trips, college visits, job fairs, etc.
    2. Ebersole-Based Excursions. Pathfinders will be invited to attend weekend (i.e., Friday to Sunday) sessions at the Ebersole Center. Each weekend session will include a combination of mentoring, academic supports, and WOLF (Wellness, Outdoorsmanship, Life Skills, and Financial Literacy topics.
    3. Workforce Development (Priority Status). Qualified Pathfinders will be given priority status with the district’s workforce development office when selecting students to participate in paid student workforce development opportunities. Pathfinders will also be invited to attend workforce development trainings, career exploration events, and speaker series.
  • When (and where) will this program take place?  Ongoing mentoring support will take place throughout the academic year at school.   The excursions will take place at the Lansing School District's Ebersole Center (3400 2nd St., Wayland, MI 49348), we currently have six weekend excursions planned throughout the school year.
