In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Lansing School District website, please contact the District’s Web Accessibility Coordinator at webinfo@lansingschools.net or 517-755-1036. COMPLAINTS

Users of Lansing School District’s website who believe that web accessibility is impaired due to their disability may file a written complaint with the District’s Web Accessibility Coordinator.

Such complaints must be filed with the District’s Web Accessibility Coordinator in writing within thirty (30) calendar days of the circumstances or events giving rise to the complaint so that they may be addressed promptly. The use of this internal complaint procedure is not prerequisite to the pursuit of other remedies, including the filing of a complaint with the United Stated Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights. The written complaint must include the following information: (1) the name and contact information of the complainant; (2) a description of the accessibility problem; (3) the date of the accessibility problem; and (4) a proposed solution to the accessibility problem.

Upon receiving a complaint, the District’s Web Accessibility Coordinator will review the complaint and will respond to the complaint in within five (5) business days. The Web Accessibility Coordinator may issue a written notice extending for not more than ten (10) additional business days the period during which the District shall respond to the complaint.

This complaint procedure contemplates an informal, but thorough investigation. If an individual cannot access information on the webpage, pending a resolution, the District will provide the requested information in an alternate format accessible within a reasonable period of time.

If a satisfactory response is not received within five (5) business days or the ten (10) business day extension, the complainant should forward a copy of the complaint to the Superintendent, who (or his or her designee) will respond within ten (10) business days.

If a satisfactory response is not received within ten (10) business days, the person may forward a copy of the complaint to the Lansing School District’s Board of Education. The Board will consider the complaint and respond within forty (40) calendar days.

At any time, if a member of the public believes that s/he has been subjected to discrimination based upon his/her disability in violation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act or Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, the individual may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights ("OCR").
