WIOA Youth and Workforce Development
The Program That Pays
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding is Federal Department of Labor funding received through the Workforce Development Agency, State of Michigan. In partnership with CAMW!, the Lansing School District provides services to 150 youth from the Mid-Michigan area from the ages of 16-24.

GED Program
If you are interested in our GED program, please fill out the Interest Form and program staff will contact you shortly.
The Youth GED program provides instruction to complete all four GED tests that is specifically tailored to the learning needs of people 16 to 24 years old. We provide flexible classroom instruction and tutoring from a dedicated, certified teacher; cover all of the costs associated with testing; and provide books and study materials free of charge to enable our students to succeed.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Students in the program are eligible for work experience, proving short term employment. This is a paid opportunity which assists students in developing job skills, building a resume, and gaining work experience credits for school (if applicable for in school students).
JMG PROGRAM
We offer Jobs for Michigan's Graduates programs for our GED students and for students at all LSD high schools. The JMG program provides students with adult mentoring through a dedicated JMG specialist. This specialist also offers at least 12-months of follow-up support after completing the program. The program offers community service opportunities throughout the year. JMG students also receive valuable one-on-one employability coaching to build success in the workplace and in life. JMG provides assistance to students in breaking down barriers such as lack of basic necessities, transportation, and homelessness.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AND WORKSITES
Our work experience job placements are made possible through community partnerships. These important relationships provide youth with hands on experience while receiving an income through our program.
If you are interested in being a community partner and having participants at your location, please contact Diane Breitung-Pratt (517) 492-5543 diane.breitung-pratt@lansingschools.net
