517k Kindness Challenge
517,000 Acts of Kindness
From October 1 through November 13, our students, staff, families, and community partners will come together for a district wide kindness initiative with one big goal: 517,000 acts of kindness.
Throughout the initiative, schools will have access to lessons, activities, communication tools, and implementation support to help make kindness a part of everyday life. The initiative will culminate in a school wide celebration on World Kindness Day, November 13.
Have you witnessed an act of kindness? Share the story with us or let us know when an act happens so we can add it to our 517,000 Acts of Kindness tracker and celebrate the kindness happening across our community!

517k Kindness Challenge in Action
Count Day Popcorn
Shout out to our Dean of Academics Ms. Simpson for making sure every student and staff member received a bag of popcorn on count day!
Cavanaugh Free Pancake Dinner
PTO hosted a free pancake dinner for Cavanaugh families. We had almost 200 people attend, eat, play, and enjoy each others company! We had 10 volunteers helping donate griddles, cook food, serve food, clean up, greet families. So if we multiple 10x200 we have 2,000 acts of kindness. So I undercounted and submitted for 1,000 acts. More pictures available on our Facebook page, I think this only allowed me to upload one picture.
Cumberland Kindness Board
Cumberland has recorded 743 acts of kindness for the week! We also have our kindness board up to practice intentional acts of kindness and spreading positivity throughout our school.

Helping Family
One of the many things I’ve done so far was help move in a brand new tv and move out the old one. My father wanted the tv mounted but couldn’t because he had surgery. I went over with my brother and did it for him :) ps: Don’t underestimate the weight of an 100in TV
Sheridan Rd. Kindness Tracking
My science classes made a weekly kindness tracker sheet that they spend 3 minutes at the beginning of class reflecting over the last 24hrs and updating all of their acts of kindness. To kick off our new daily routine, we wrote kind letters to the teachers in our building. The picture is of the letters ready to be delivered and the turned in weekly tracker.
