‘If We Go to Counseling,  What Will my Friends Think?”

Facilitator - Kyron Harvell LSD STAR Grant Director
Wednesday, March 10, 2021, 5:30-6:30pm

Statistically we have seen a large spike in the number of individuals who are being diagnosed with mental health issues particularly amongst African Americans and Latino populations. There has been a negative stigma attached to counseling historically, as it was seen as a sign of weakness and loss of control. The facilitator will provide an overview of what Counseling truly consists of, the social, emotional and mental health benefits of counseling, and why families should take advantage of this support. Community Resources such as CMH and Child and Family Charities will be present to provide resources for families in need.
