THE UNIVERSITY OF OLIVET TO OFFER OLIVET DIRECT! AT THE LANSING SCHOOL DISTRICT

LANSING, Mich –The University of Olivet has announced that the Lansing School District (LSD) students
will now be automatically admitted to the university through Olivet Direct!, a new program that makes
admissions process faster and easier for qualified students. President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. and
Lansing School District Superintendent Ben Shuldiner signed the Olivet Direct! agreement today during a
special ceremony held at Lansing’s Eastern High School. Many Greater Lansing leaders and elected
officials were present at the ceremony and celebrated this educational opportunity for Lansing students.

“We are thrilled to make the college admissions process easier and more affordable to the largest
school district in the Greater Lansing area,” said President Corey. “The University of Olivet and the
Lansing School District share a strong bond through many educational programs and now these students
will be able to avoid the lengthy and often confusing admissions process and focus on successfully
finishing their senior year.”

The University of Olivet launched the Olivet Direct! program in December 2022 and already has a
partnership with over a dozen Michigan school districts. Direct admission allows high-achieving students
to lock in their acceptance and financial aid award without requiring them to go through the traditional
admissions process.

“We are very excited about this partnership with The University of Olivet,” said Ben Shuldiner, LSD
Superintendent. “This new program, coupled with numerous scholarship opportunities, small class sizes
and personalized attention, makes The University of Olivet an incredibly compelling higher education
option.”

Lansing School District high school students may also qualify for The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE
Scholarship, which will cover the full cost of published tuition and general fees after all federal, state,
and institutional grants and scholarships are applied. To qualify for free tuition, seniors must be eligible
for the new state Michigan Achievement Scholarship, be Pell-eligible and have been a Michigan resident
for at least one year. The University of Olivet ADVANTAGE Scholarship aims to guarantee students,
especially first-generation students and those from low-to-moderate-income families throughout
Michigan, a quality, relationship-based college experience.

Eligible LSD students can also apply their $10,000 Lansing Promise scholarship towards earning a four
year degree at The University of Olivet.

“We have worked hard to make an immersive, relationship-based education available and affordable to
students,” President Corey said. “Between Olivet Direct!, the ADVANTAGE Scholarship and the Lansing
Promise, the Lansing School District students are on their way to opening the doors to endless
educational and career opportunities. We cannot wait to welcome them on our campus.”

Established in 1844, the University of Olivet, formerly Olivet College, is a residential, relationship-based
