Graduation Day Safety - Clear Bag Policy - Prohibited Items

The Breslin Student Events Center on the campus of Michigan State University adheres to a strict clear bag policy to maintain a secure environment for all visitors. All families, guests, and students attending graduation ceremonies on June 8th, 2024, will be required to follow this policy without exception. Please reference the included graphic for details.

It is also important to remember, the following items will not be permitted into the Breslin Student Events Center:

• Outside food and drinks (including alcohol)
• Balloons/signs/banners
• Vapes, pipes, cigarettes, cigars 
• Pepper spray/mace
• Weapons (includes pocket knives)
• Projectiles 
• Noise makers 
• Chair backs
• Umbrellas with metal tips
• Any other item deemed to compromise public safety.
