Electronic Communication Devices (ECDs) include cell phones, iPads, and personal computers.Unauthorized use may lead to disciplinary action, including confiscation. The administration can modify consequences as needed. ECDs must be handed over to an administrator or Public Safety Officer when requested. Inappropriate use is strictly prohibited, and ECDs cannot be used in locker rooms or restrooms.
Confiscation and disciplinary action will follow if this rule is violated. Students are responsible for their ECDs, and the District is not liable for theft, loss, vandalism, or damage. Misuse of ECDs or social media to harass, threaten, or disrupt will result in disciplinary measures, from confiscation to suspension.
ECDs are all electronic devices used to communicate with others and include, but are not limited to, district issued and personal cell phone; iPads, and computer devices. Use of ECDs in an unauthorized manner may result in disciplinary action, including confiscation, depending on the nature of the prohibited activity and/or whether it is a repeat offense for that student. This includes use on any campus and/or off campus that interferes with the educational process.
Misuse of ECDs May Result In...
1st Offense Device is confiscated and returned to student at end of day.
2nd Offense Device is confiscated, parent/guardian is instructed to pick up the device at the end of the day, and ECD privilege is revoked.
Subsequent Offenses Device is confiscated and additional disciplinary interventions up to and including suspension, will be assigned.
