Mt. Hope Principal Welcome Letter

Dear Mount Hope Families,

It is with great excitement and honor that I welcome you to the 2023- 2024 school year! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer, and that you are ready for an amazing and transformational school year! School starts on Monday, August 28, 2023 and we are eager to meet our students!

I would like to take the time to introduce myself as Mount Hope’s new Principal. I am Nicole Holliday-Gosnell, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such dedicated parents and educators, persevering students, and a supportive school district that is dedicated to ensuring success for all students. I am confident that my new role will provide me with the opportunity to diligently work with our school community to ensure student engagement, growth, and success. Together, we are going to work diligently for a strong opening, an ongoing strong school culture, and best instructional practices to move every student each day towards a path of success.

My professional background is rooted in education and leadership. For the past thirty years, I have worked in both public and private education as a teacher, program director, Assistant Principal, and leader.

I would also like to take the time to welcome all of our new families, as well as our returning ones! Our entire team at Mt.Hope is eager to meet our students and begin this year’s transformational journey with them! Our goal this year is to strengthen instruction and our CRPBIS initiative! Our team is committed to setting high academic expectations, while providing a safe and nurturing environment that encourages a Growth Mindset and a love for continuous learning. Additionally, classrooms have been balanced to have a structured student placement, and to provide equitable class sizes at each grade level. Together, we will work diligently to advocate for our students’ academic success, Social Emotional Learning, and a strong school culture through our CR PBIS initiative.

Please join us at our Ice Cream Social Open House, which will be held during the month of September. An invitation will be sent. You will enjoy some yummy ice cream treats, meet our teachers and staff, receive Title I information, receive our parent volunteering information, and discover our school goal in depth!

We appreciate and value your partnership, and look forward to a hi15 from gh parent Involvement! I am confident that as our partners, you are going to participate in parent meetings and conferences, ensure that your child comes to school daily, on time, and ready to learn. As well as ensuring that your child follows school expectations, completes and submits assignments on time, participates in after-school programs, and discusses with you their involvement or concern.

Once again, welcome back to school! I am honored and humbled to serve as the new principal of Mount Hope, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. My door is open, and I sincerely welcome your input and support. I am confident that together, we will ensure that our scholars have a transformational, enjoyable, and successful Year!
