Lansing School District Recognized by Department of Energy

The Lansing School District and twelve others nationwide have been commended for their commitment to creating healthier, more energy-efficient schools. This achievement aligns Lansing with notable districts like Broward County and Portland, showcasing its excellence on a national scale.

To date, the Lansing School District has completed or is in the process of implementing sustainable practices like solar power and geothermal energy, upgrading to energy-efficient LED lighting, and integrating energy management systems to optimize resource use. These efforts contribute to creating environmentally friendly and effective learning environments.

The district also focuses on educational programs that intertwine with its sustainability goals. These programs involve students directly in environmental projects, preparing them for green careers and instilling a sense of responsibility toward sustainable development.
